Our second vintage of White Shiraz (inaugural was 2025 vintage and Heathcote's first)

Our inaugural and Heathcote first White Shiraz sold out in record time so much so that we have increased the volume this year to cater for demand.

As you know, Shiraz is in our blood at Sanguine. And in true form, our winemaker Mark Hunter has once again followed his instinct to explore what’s possible with the fruit we know so well - creating wines that are interesting, thoughtful, and always grounded in Sanguine’s history.

This time, he took our signature Shiraz grapes… and turned it into a white wine.

We are delighted to announce the release of Sanguine Estate’s (and the home of Heathcote's first-ever white shriaz) second vintage of White Shiraz - an addition to the Kindred range, and very much a sibling to our much-loved Kindred Shiraz. You might even say, a true Kindred spirit.

This is not a novelty wine. It is a centuries‑old technique, reimagined through a Sanguine lens. By gently pressing whole clusters of Shiraz with little to no skin contact, pale juice is released and fermented into a white wine. The first release (2025) White Shiraz was almost crystal white in appearance. This year's wine shows a delicate golden-orange hue in the bottle, more reminiscent of a skin contact or slightly aged white wine*. The winemaking approach remains the same and is unlike that used for any other wine we make at the winery. Rather than chasing a completely colourless style, Mark allowed the wine to retain a little more of its natural character and texture, resulting in a more expressive palate and greater complexity.

It’s fresh. Textural. Unexpectedly refined. And guaranteed to start conversation from the very first pour.

While only a handful of White Shiraz wines are produced in Australia, this wine is not about rarity. It’s about enjoyment. Which is why we have welcomed it too our Kindred Family, offered at Kindred pricing to make it easy to discover, share and enjoy.

*Note: the white shiraz bottle has been photoshopped so the colour is not exactly as it will appear.
